This magnificent little safety razor was produced by Darwin in the 1930s. It is a vintage model, called "Darlette", which was intended for women. It is possible that it was also offered to men for shaving their moustache!
Made of chrome-plated brass, as you can see on the pictures, the condition is excellent. It has a few rare scratches, but extremely little considering its age. It is presented in its original black bakelite case, also in excellent condition. An original blade is included, for the collection.
Please note: this small razor does not use standard double edge blades. It is sold for the collection. If you wish to use it, it is possible with a little handling : it can use "corn razor" blades which are modified with a pair of piercing pliers to adapt it perfectly to the studs of the head (a bit like modifying blades for a Gibbs razor !). I have a few packs of these blades in stock, if you wish I can sell them separately.
This antique model comes from my personal collection. I am in the process of reviving the Darwin brand, and the funds from this sale will enable me to finance some of the many steps necessary to renew this historic brand. By buying this razor you are therefore participating in the development of a young French company!
